Ingredients:
– 3 cups all-purpose flour
– 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) instant yeast
– 1/4 cup warm water (about 110°F or 45°C)
– 1/4 cup warm milk
– 1/4 cup melted butter
– 2 tablespoons sugar
– 1 teaspoon salt
– 1 egg
– Sesame seeds for topping (optional)
Instructions:
- In a small bowl, dissolve the instant yeast in warm water. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until it becomes frothy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the warm milk, melted butter, sugar, salt, and egg. Mix well.
- Add the yeast mixture to the bowl with the wet ingredients and stir until everything is well combined.
- Gradually add the flour to the mixture, stirring until a soft dough forms.
- Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until the dough is smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover it with a clean kitchen towel or plastic wrap, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1-1.5 hours or until doubled in size.
- Once the dough has risen, punch it down to release any air bubbles and divide it into 6 equal portions.
- Take each portion of dough and shape it into a ball. Place each ball of dough into the cavities of the AKS hamburger mold, pressing gently to fill the mold.
- Cover the mold with a clean kitchen towel and let the dough rise again for another 30-45 minutes, or until it has doubled in size.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- If desired, brush the tops of the risen dough with a little beaten egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
- Bake the hamburgers in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until they are golden brown and sound hollow when tapped on the bottom.
- Remove the hamburgers from the mold and let them cool on a wire rack before slicing and serving.
Enjoy your soft and fluffy yeast hamburgers made using the AKS hamburger mold!
